And here it is! The best apple cake I ever made! As I’ve mentioned in a previous post I really wanted to try this new recipe and yesterday it was finally the right time for it. And luckily I managed to take some photos before we ate half of it at once…
For those of you who would like to give it a try:
You need: a few apples, 150 g butter, 150 g almond paste, 1 1/2 dl sugar, 3 dl flour, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 1/2 dl milk, a handful of hazelnuts, pearl sugar, a spoon of breadcrumbs, cinnamon.
Preparation: Set the oven at 175 degrees. Peel and slice the apples. Chop the hazelnuts and roughly grate the almond paste.
How you do it: Melt the butter in a saucepan, mix in the sugar and set aside to cool. Stir in the flour, baking soda and milk. Add the grated almond paste into the batter. Grease a pan with butter and breadcrumbs, pour in the batter, arrange the apple slices nicely and press them into the batter. Pour some cinnamon on top, the chopped hazelnuts and some pearl sugar.
Bake in the oven at 175 degrees for about 30 minutes.
Serve with homemade vanilla ice cream or vanilla sauce. I promise you will love it!
