Monochrome

A few good years have past since last time I had a colourful Christmas. I have found myself stepping into a different level of calm and state of being and a monochromatic palette keeps me in the right mindset. I am not so much into colours anymore, and probably this time of the year its the most challenging when it comes to decorating choices. But for three years in a row my paper stars have saved me… Once they are up, hanging from the ceiling, these stars create the perfect mood.

In the beginning I only had white ones, but in time my collection got some new companions in grey and black. I like to place them everywhere around my home to create a little bit of magic…

A few little trees, loads and loads of candles and you can easily feel the holidays have moved in…

The two beautiful prints are from Coco Lapin Design and they are called “Lonely House” and “Black Beach“. Striking simplicity… and so so powerful. Love them very much and they blend in perfectly!

    1. Thank you so much Tiffany for your kind words!
And I am so happy to see you here on the blog. Thank you for visiting!
I love monochrome and I feel I get a little tired and stressed if I am surrounded by too much colour 🙂
Hope you are enjoying your weekend and wish you a lovely Sunday afternoon!

    1. Hello,

I am really sorry, but I actually have no idea about the color. It’s just an off white. It was on the walls when I moved in, so I don’t have a good answer for you 🙁
      Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. These are beautiful little decorations. Here in the States, most holiday decorations are tacky monstrosities and I cringe just glancing at them. It’s nice to see decorations that have style and seamlessly fit with the rest of your decor 🙂

    1. Thanks Alex! I know exactly what you mean. I am so happy we have some good choices over here when it comes to more minimal decorations. I think a nice and big white paper star would look great in your new home as well… in front of those beautiful windows you have 🙂
I really have to make some time to go through your last few blogposts. It seems I don’t manage my time so well lately 🙂

      1. I’ve been so busy with the holidays, moving, and getting our home organized that I haven’t had a chance or the energy to sit down and write anything for a few weeks now. BUT, I’m planning to write something this coming weekend! Stay tuned 🙂

  2. This is such a nice blog post Natalia. I am becoming more of a fan of monochrome all the time, thanks so you. And it is true, the lighted candles add all the warmth and color that is needed. Very nice. So many nice pictures.

    1. This comment made me smile! I think monochrome becomes an addiction, so be careful 🙂 In the beginning I was intrigued by it, then attracted, then a fan and then addicted 🙂 Now I feel its difficult to accept colors with my whole heart 🙂
      All the best to you!

      1. Thanks for the warning but it may be too late. Although there are so many colors with the seasons in Maine. All the best to you.
