The Mantis Floor lamp designed by Bernard Schottlander has been on my wish list for so long and now I can finally enjoy its beauty in the comfort of my own home. And that feeling, when you can just make your own wishes come true, is so precious, isn’t it?
The lamp is an example of elegance, grace and clever design. It looks like a mobile sculpture with an intriguing play between balance and imbalance, symmetry and asymmetry. I just love that it can be rotated by 360 degrees around the base and it has 5 arm positions to allow the adjustment in elevation. So cool!

The lamp has been recreated from Schottlander’s 1951 series of lights. An eye-catching floor lamp on an impressive scale with a smart system of counterweights combined with a series of strong, and flexible metal bars.

I am trying to decide where this lamp will look at its best in my home. Until then I’ll keep moving it around, creating a still life here and there. I really like how beautifully it pairs with my little Georg Jensen vase. It must be due to their similar shapes…

Hope you have all made the best of your weekend so far and I am wishing everyone a wonderful Sunday evening!
