Winter light

A new year has arrived, some of you already wrapped up the winter holiday last week and some are still enjoying the last days before going back to our normal life, to our daily routines…

The beginning of a new year is always magical, we get a new chance to do it better this time, to use what we have learned from previous years. I definitely have moments when I wish “the best of me” was better, but living well is a skill and it has to be practiced everyday. I wish I could go through this new year without any planning ahead… just live in the present and take one day at a time. I am sure the ordinary life can be truly extraordinary if we choose to be present and pay attention.

And catching the winter light, right when it’s happening, is one of those things. A little magic unfolds in front of you, sometimes for only a few moments… and all the simple things like wood, glass or water, get a new dimension… So take the time to look around, to notice and to enjoy the present.

  1. I’m not sure if we had this exchange already, but there is an obvious difference in the light of the seasons. I recently told Caitlin that, to me, the best setting to shoot in is during the winter, under a gray sky, in the middle of the day.

I love the tones in your photos.

Enjoy the rest of your week, Natalia!

    1. Hi Alex and thank you.
I can’t agree more. Each season has a different kind of light. I love them all, but I prefer to avoid direct sunlight, the photos get that yellow hint and I am not a big fan of it. I am much more inspired by a gentler light.
Hope you and your family will enjoy many seasons in your new home and you will have the chance to take inspiring photos.
      A good day to you!

    1. Thank you so much Dan. I’ve noticed that my photos have a certain kind of softness in them lately. They feel like honey for my soul… Wish you a magical 2017, full of coffee flavours, beautiful photos and inspiring stories…

    1. Thank you Kasia,

Happy 2017! May this new year be one of your best. Sending you hugs xx

    1. Look who is here! Happy to see a comment from you Anne!
I know you are not a big fan of minimalism :), but the simple things always have their way to get my attention… I enjoyed taking these photos very much, so I am happy you liked them.
A beautiful evening to you and hope to see you here from time to time…

      Natalia xx
